Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress alliance on Thursday, declaring that Bihar’s “jungle raj” will remain etched in public memory for another century, no matter how hard the opposition tries to erase its dark legacy of crime, corruption, and collapse. Speaking via audio-conference at the BJP’s “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot: Yuva Samvaad” event, Modi zeroed in on the INDIA bloc just hours after it formally declared RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate, framing the November Assembly elections as a decisive battle between development and a dangerous return to the past.
Modi ridiculed the opposition not as a true “gathbandhan” (alliance) but a “lathbandhan”—a coalition of criminals—highlighting that several top leaders from both Delhi and Patna are currently out on bail in serious corruption and criminal cases. He urged BJP workers to organize booth-level meetings where elderly residents share firsthand accounts of the terror under Lalu Prasad’s RJD rule: widespread kidnappings for ransom, daylight murders, rigged elections, and a complete breakdown of law and order. “The youth must know what jungle raj really meant. Gather them at every booth—let the elders speak,” Modi said, emphasizing the importance of generational memory in preventing history from repeating itself.
In sharp contrast, he showcased the NDA’s transformative work in Bihar under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, describing it as a “mahayagya” of all-round development powered by political stability. From new AIIMS hospitals and medical colleges to modern schools, 1,500 km of new railway lines, and ten upcoming airports, Modi said Bihar has finally caught speed after decades of stagnation. “When there is a stable government at the Centre and in the state, development accelerates. That is the NDA’s strength,” he declared, quoting the growing youth chant: “Raftaar pakad chuka Bihar, phir se NDA sarkar.”

With polling set for November 6 and 11, and counting on November 14, Modi called on Bihar’s young voters to play a historic role in writing a new chapter of progress. He promised continued empowerment—especially for women—through expanded schemes like business loans and skill training. As nominations close and campaign heat rises, Modi’s core message rings loud: only the NDA can protect Bihar from sliding back into darkness. The choice, he said, is clear—forward with stability or backward into jungle raj.
