On the occasion of Bihar Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Bihar, calling it “the holy land of heroes and great personalities.” In a message shared on X on Saturday, Modi lauded the state’s rich legacy and its pivotal role in shaping Indian history, while emphasizing its current phase of transformation.
“Our state, which has made Indian history proud, is passing through an important phase of its development journey today,” he wrote, crediting the “hardworking and talented people of Bihar” for driving this progress.
Celebrated annually on March 22 to mark Bihar’s formation in 1912, the day honors the state’s cultural heritage and contributions—from the ancient universities of Nalanda and Vikramshila to figures like Emperor Ashoka and Guru Gobind Singh. Modi’s message underscored Bihar’s historical significance as a cradle of Indian civilization, noting, “This state has been the center of our culture and tradition.”
The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to Bihar’s growth, stating, “We will leave no stone unturned for the all-round development of this state.” His words align with ongoing initiatives like infrastructure projects, rural electrification, and the Smart City mission in Patna, aimed at uplifting one of India’s most populous states.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar echoed similar sentiments at a Patna event, highlighting record investments and job creation in recent years.
