Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched 20 sleek, air-conditioned tempo travellers on Monday, set to transform travel on the bustling Dehradun-Mussoorie and Haldwani-Nainital routes.
With 10 vehicles assigned to each route, these 17-seater mini buses, operated by the State Transport Corporation, promise to ease traffic congestion by taking up less road space. The Chief Minister took a test ride from his camp office to the GTC helipad, praising the initiative’s potential to enhance passenger comfort and streamline travel.
“These modern tempo travellers offer safe, smooth, and budget-friendly journeys while boosting Uttarakhand’s tourism and economy,” Dhami said. He hinted at expanding the fleet if the initiative proves successful.
