Adani Airport Holdings has abruptly ended its ground handling agreement with Turkish firm Celebi at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), effective immediately, following the Union government’s revocation of Celebi’s security clearance.
The decision, announced Friday, cites national security concerns amid Turkey’s support for Pakistan post the Pahalgam terror attacks and India’s ‘Operation Sindoor,’ which avenged 26 deaths.
Adani Airports directed Celebi to hand over all ground handling facilities to ensure operational continuity.

The company assured seamless services through new ground handling agencies, with all Celebi employees at both airports transferring to these agencies under existing terms. “Ground handling operations will remain unaffected, and we are committed to the highest service standards and national interest,” spokespersons for CSMIA and SVPIA stated.
Additionally, Adani scrapped its lounge access agreement with Turkish company DragonPass, barring its customers from Adani-managed airport lounges.
This follows the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s Thursday notification, where the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) revoked Celebi Airport Services India Pvt Ltd’s clearance, citing national security.
The moves reflect heightened geopolitical tensions and India’s firm stance against entities linked to nations backing its adversaries, ensuring operational stability and security at its key airports.
