A tragic road accident in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district claimed the lives of six young men and left one critically injured early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 5:30 AM near Chirchari village under the Baghnadi police station limits, when a car carrying seven friends collided with an oncoming truck.
According to Rajnandgaon Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg, the group, aged between 25 and 30, was traveling from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to Puri, Odisha, for a tour after visiting Ujjain. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have fallen asleep, causing the car to jump the divider and crash into a truck in the opposite lane. Five occupants died at the scene, while a sixth succumbed to injuries in a nearby hospital. The driver, the sole survivor, is in critical condition at the local medical college hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Akash Maurya (28), Govind (33), Aman Rathore (26), Nitin Yadav (34), all from Madhya Pradesh, and Sangram Kesari from Odisha. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
