In a heartbreaking incident that has shaken residents of Mumbai’s Naigaon area, a four-year-old girl fell to her death from the 12th floor of a high-rise building after her mother briefly seated her on top of a shoe rack.
The child, identified as Anvika Prajapati, was with her mother on Wednesday evening around 8 PM, getting ready to step out of their flat in Navkar City. According to CCTV footage, Anvika was seen putting on adult footwear as her mother locked the door. Moments later, the mother lifted her daughter and placed her on top of a shoe cupboard near the window.
What happened next was devastating.
While the mother wore her slippers and held Anvika’s sandals, the young girl climbed from the cupboard to the windowsill. In a matter of seconds, she lost her balance and plunged from the 12th floor.
