Indian Cricketer Smriti Mandhana has given fans a rare glimpse into her under-construction farmhouse in Sangli, revealing a space that blends comfort with cinematic grandeur inspired by filmmaker Karan Johar. During a conversation with sports presenter Jatin Sapru, Mandhana walked viewers through the design and inspiration behind the property. The farmhouse, set amid open surroundings, features a grand entrance door influenced by the lavish sets often seen in Johar’s films. A large front garden with rounded pavement adds to its palace-like appeal, while open side spaces have been planned for greenery and family gatherings.
The cricketer shared that her vision for a dramatic entryway stems from growing up watching films by Johar and Sooraj Barjatya, known for their opulent aesthetics. Inside, the home leans heavily on wooden elements, including a rounded staircase and décor accents, giving the space a warm yet sophisticated character. The farmhouse is still being developed and is expected to become her dream residence once completed.
The property also caters to Mandhana’s professional needs. It includes a large, covered playground area designed for cricket practice, along with a pickleball court. The walls of the sporting area are adorned with photographs chronicling her international cricket journey, adding a personal and motivational touch to the space.
