Nineteen-year-old Shubham Kumar from Dighwara in Bihar has earned recognition from the International Book of Records after reaching Level 22,222 in Candy Crush Saga, turning his progress in the popular mobile puzzle game into a formally recognised achievement. The record organisation has listed Kumar in the category “Highest Level Achieved in Candy Crush Saga (Teenager)”. The recognition highlights the level he had reached rather than suggesting that he had achieved the highest level ever recorded by any Candy Crush player.
According to the International Book of Records website, Kumar achieved the recognised milestone on July 5, 2026. The listing identifies him as a resident of Dighwara and records his age as 19 years, eight months and 25 days when he reached the level. The achievement places his progress in a specific teenager category maintained by the organisation. The record entry focuses on the milestone itself and does not provide additional details about the circumstances in which Kumar reached the level.
Candy Crush Saga is a puzzle game in which players make matching combinations of colourful tiles while completing objectives assigned to individual levels. As players progress, the game introduces different board layouts and challenges that require them to identify combinations and strategies to clear each stage. With thousands of levels available, reaching higher stages requires players to continue progressing through increasingly complex boards. Kumar’s achievement at Level 22,222 therefore represents a significant point in his reported progression through the game.

Kumar’s progress did not end with the level recognised by the record organisation. In a later post on the official Candy Crush community, he said that his current level had reached 23,165. This means he had advanced more than 900 levels beyond the milestone for which he received the record recognition. However, the International Book of Records listing continues to recognise Level 22,222 as the achievement associated with his record, rather than his subsequently reported higher level.
The recognition comes as Candy Crush Saga continues to have players progressing through very high levels. The official Candy Crush community was celebrating players reaching Level 23,000 in August 2026, indicating that the game has continued to support progression well beyond the levels commonly encountered by casual players. Kumar’s record is specifically notable because it is listed under the teenager category, distinguishing it from broader claims about the highest level reached across the game's entire player base.
The International Book of Records entry does not state how many hours Kumar spent playing Candy Crush Saga, when he first started the game or how long it took him to reach Level 22,222. It also does not provide details comparing his achievement with every other player who may have progressed to similar levels. For now, the officially recognised milestone remains Kumar’s Level 22,222 achievement in the teenager category, while his own later update indicates that he has continued playing and reached Level 23,165.
