The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) 'Seva Sankalp Yatra', organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public service as an elected head of government, will conclude on October 7 with programmes in Vadnagar, Gujarat, and Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The campaign began on September 17 and has travelled across different parts of the country, focusing on the themes of 'Seva' (service), 'Sankalp' (pledge) and social responsibility.
The concluding programmes are expected to bring together thousands of 'Seva Yatris', Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers and young citizens. In Varanasi, participants will conclude the journey with a 'Jalabhishek' at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJYM national president Hemang Joshi are scheduled to address the gathering.
In Vadnagar, where Prime Minister Modi was born and raised, the concluding programme will include a 'Jalabhishek' at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Mandir. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and BJP All Cells Coordinator V.D. Sharma are scheduled to participate in the event. Vadnagar holds particular significance in Modi's personal and political journey.

The BJP said the nationwide campaign was intended to turn the commemoration of Modi's public service into a broader social initiative. During the yatra, participants were encouraged to undertake activities such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation, water conservation, Gau Seva and service at old-age homes. The campaign also included interactions with beneficiaries of government schemes and other community-oriented activities.
The two concluding programmes are being held at places closely associated with Modi's life and public career. The BJP has described the simultaneous events in Vadnagar and Varanasi as representing the journey from his birthplace in Gujarat to Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency he has represented. The party said the campaign was aimed at encouraging young people to participate in social service and community initiatives while marking the 25-year milestone.
