Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Air Force Commanders’ Conclave, lauding Operation Sindoor as a clear demonstration of India's ability to execute high-impact, short-duration operations with precision and effectiveness. He praised the Indian Air Force for its exemplary courage, speed, and accuracy in neutralising terror camps during the strikes, while adeptly managing Pakistan's subsequent "irresponsible reaction". Singh highlighted the outstanding performance of India's air defence systems and other deployed equipment, urging commanders to extract valuable operational lessons from Sindoor to enhance preparedness for future contingencies. The conclave served as a key forum for senior IAF leadership to deliberate on strategic priorities and force capabilities amid evolving security challenges.

Singh characterised the IAF as a technologically advanced, operationally agile, strategically confident, and forward-looking force dedicated to protecting national interests in contemporary scenarios. He emphasised that modern warfare in the 21st century extends beyond conventional weapons, encompassing contests of ideas, technology, and adaptability. The minister stressed the imperative for continuous innovation to maintain superiority across domains.

The government is actively partnering with the private sector, including startups and MSMEs, to accelerate Armed Forces modernisation, Singh noted. Programmes such as Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) and Acing Development of Innovative Technologies with iDEX (ADITI) are designed to engage young innovators in defence manufacturing, promoting indigenous solutions aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat goals.
