The Rajasthan government has disbursed Rs 5 crore to flood-hit Uttarakhand from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support immediate relief and rehabilitation. An official statement confirmed that a demand draft has been sent to facilitate aid distribution amid widespread devastation from recent floods.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma spoke with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressing solidarity and assuring full cooperation for affected families. In a letter, Sharma conveyed grief over the loss of lives and property, stating, "Rajasthan stands shoulder to shoulder with Uttarakhand in this hour of crisis."
This aid reflects India's tradition of interstate support during disasters, aligned with NDMA guidelines that promote resource sharing for efficient recovery. Past examples include Rajasthan's assistance to other states, highlighting the role of such gestures in fostering national unity and resilience.
