Congress leader Rahul Gandhi unleashed a scathing attack on the Election Commission, accusing it of failing to uphold the sacred 'one man, one vote' principle. Hinting at deeper revelations, Gandhi declared, "Abhi picture baki hai," as he pointed to widespread irregularities in voter lists across multiple constituencies.
Speaking to reporters at the Parliament House complex, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha claimed the manipulation is systematic and nationwide. "The EC knows it, and we know it too. Evidence is now clear," Gandhi asserted, emphasizing that the Congress is steadfast in protecting the Constitution.
Highlighting the EC’s failure, Gandhi said, "It’s their duty to enforce 'one man, one vote,' but they’ve abandoned it." He vowed that the Congress would not relent in its fight to safeguard democratic principles.

The controversy intensified with the case of Minta Devi, a supposed 124-year-old listed as a first-time voter in Bihar’s electoral rolls. "There are countless cases like this," Gandhi remarked, suggesting more exposés are forthcoming. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra echoed his claims, pointing to fake names, addresses, and relatives in voter lists.
On Tuesday, INDIA bloc MPs, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, protested outside Parliament’s Makar Dwar. Sporting white T-shirts emblazoned with 'Minta Devi' and '124 Not Out,' they demanded the Election Commission halt its Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. TMC’s Derek O’Brien, DMK’s TR Baalu, and NCP(SP)’s Supriya Sule joined the demonstration, wielding posters and chanting slogans against the alleged voter fraud.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore accused the EC, under Rajeev Kumar and Gyanesh Kumar, of acting as a "department of the BJP." He pointed to Minta Devi’s inclusion as evidence of a fraudulent voter list, questioning how the EC could allow such discrepancies.
The SIR issue has paralyzed Parliament’s Monsoon session, ongoing since July 21. Apart from discussions on Operation Sindoor, repeated adjournments have stalled proceedings. On Monday, opposition leaders, including Gandhi, Kharge, and Sharad Pawar, marched toward the EC office to protest the Bihar voter roll revision but were stopped and briefly detained by police, escalating tensions.
As the Congress and its allies intensify their campaign, the nation awaits further revelations in what Gandhi hints is a much larger scandal.
