Punjab Police have arrested two shooters of the Lucky Patial-Davinder Bambiha gang, Karan Ganger, 25, from Ror Majara, Hoshiarpur, and Jaskarandeep Singh alias Kallu, 23, from Ramgarh Jhungian, Garhshankar, in Mumbai, for their role in the July 2, 2025, murder of Hardeep Singh alias Deepa Kulpuria in Kulpur village, Pojewal, SBS Nagar. The arrests, announced by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Sunday, mark a significant blow to organized crime in Punjab.
DGP Yadav revealed that Ganger and Kallu, acting on instructions from US-based handler Jaskaran Singh alias Kannu, killed Hardeep due to personal enmity. All three are linked to the notorious Lucky Patial faction of the Davinder Bambiha gang. A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by SP (Investigation), used human and technical intelligence to track the duo to Mumbai, where they were apprehended with assistance from local police, said AIG Counter Intelligence Jalandhar, Navjot Singh Mahal.
The operation thwarted potential further attacks, as the accused were reportedly assigned additional targets by their foreign handlers. A case was registered on July 3 under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103 (murder), 191(3) (organized crime), and 190 (unlawful assembly), and Arms Act sections 25 and 27 at Pojewal police station. Investigations continue to uncover broader criminal linkages.
