President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the breathtaking summer annuals of Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, unveiling a floral paradise that opens to the public from August 16 to September 14, 2025, daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (except Mondays). This year’s highlight is the enchanting Babbling Brook, a serene water feature surrounded by lush greenery, offering visitors a tranquil retreat.
The 15-acre Amrit Udyan, often called the soul of Rashtrapati Bhavan, blends geometric elegance with vibrant flora, including over 42 varieties of summer flowers. New additions include a meandering stream with cascades, sculptural spouts, stepping stones, a reflecting pool, a banyan grove with reflexology paths, and a plumeria garden. Visitors can explore Bal Vatika, Herbal Garden, Bonsai Garden, Central Lawn, Long Garden, and Circular Garden, all enhanced by a unique floral clock near the Pilkhan tree, adorned with colorful pebbles and edge plants.
The garden is now disabled-friendly, featuring ramps, sensory plant displays, and Braille information for accessibility. Entry is free, with online booking at rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in or walk-in registration at self-service kiosks near Gate 35 on North Avenue Road. The last entry is at 5:15 PM.
