President Droupadi Murmu lauded Patanjali University's achievement of 64% female graduates during its convocation ceremony on Sunday, hailing it as the vanguard of a women-led developed India while invoking ancient scholars like Gargi and Maitreyi as historical beacons of intellectual leadership. Addressing over 1,200 students in the spiritually charged environs of Haridwar—known as the gateway to Hari (Vishnu) and Har (Shiva)—Murmu expressed delight that girls secured four times more medals than boys. "This is not just a statistic; it is the vanguard of a developed India led by women," she declared, extending heartfelt congratulations to all graduates, medallists, and especially parents of female students, whose nurturing she credited for this milestone.

The President commended Patanjali University for seamlessly integrating modern education with Indian cultural ethos, positioning graduates as torchbearers of Maharishi Patanjali's legacy in yoga, grammar, and Ayurveda. "Through yoga, he purified the mind; through grammar, speech; through Ayurveda, the body," Murmu noted, praising the institution's promotion of natural medicine and holistic health for a healthier Bharat. Established under Baba Ramdev's patronage, the university's India-centric vision—embodying 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (world as one family), blending Vedic wisdom with scientific research, and tackling global challenges like climate change—impressed her deeply.

Murmu urged students to align lifestyles with nature, emphasising environmental protection as essential for humanity's future. "You have studied in harmony with these ideals in this beautiful location," she said, confident that the cohort would confront issues like climate change to build a virtuous society and developed nation. Her address resonated with Patanjali's ethos of sustainable development, where campuses incorporate organic farming and solar energy, aligning with national goals under the National Education Policy 2020.
