Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a virtual interaction with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) booth-level workers in West Bengal, offering a series of strategic suggestions aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots campaign ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
The interaction took place through the NaMo app, where selected booth workers from constituencies including Kasba, Phansidewa, Bankura, Salbani and Shantipur presented their feedback on local issues. According to party sources, the Prime Minister listened to concerns raised by the workers, which included allegations of corruption, lack of access to welfare schemes, and issues related to law and order.
Following the exchange, Narendra Modi reportedly issued six key recommendations to BJP cadres. He emphasised strengthening booth-level organisation, increasing direct voter contact, and communicating the party’s manifesto and chargesheet effectively to the public. He also urged workers to prioritise outreach among women and youth through focused community meetings and door-to-door campaigns.

The Prime Minister also advised party workers to engage more actively with farmers, particularly potato cultivators, highlighting concerns about price disparities and market exploitation. He encouraged them to raise awareness about alleged syndicate control in agricultural trade and its impact on rural incomes, framing these issues as central to the party’s outreach strategy.
In addition, Modi instructed workers to expand outreach to communities such as the Matuas and Namasudras, emphasising messaging around citizenship-related concerns and government welfare assurances. He also called for compiling local records of alleged crimes and governance failures to present to voters as part of the campaign narrative.
Concluding the interaction, the Prime Minister urged BJP workers to aim not only for victory in West Bengal but also for a stronger margin, signalling confidence in the party’s electoral prospects. With the state heading into a closely watched election cycle, the interaction underscores the BJP’s intensified focus on booth-level mobilisation and grassroots strategy in one of India’s most politically significant states.
