Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday unveiled and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹1.06 lakh crore during his visit to Rajasthan, marking one of the largest infrastructure and public investment initiatives in the state. The projects span multiple sectors, including aviation, energy, railways, urban mobility, renewable power, and industrial development, officials said.
The Prime Minister’s engagements covered key locations including Jodhpur, Balotra, Jaipur, and parts of the Bikaner region. The visit began with the inauguration of the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, followed by the launch of the revised UDAN scheme aimed at boosting regional air connectivity. Later, in Balotra, he inspected the HPCL refinery complex, participated in plantation activities, and addressed a public gathering highlighting development initiatives in the state.
A major highlight of the visit was the dedication of the Pachpadra Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex in Balotra. Developed jointly by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Rajasthan government at an investment of over ₹79,450 crore, the refinery has an annual refining capacity of 9 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA). Officials said the project is expected to strengthen India’s energy security while also promoting downstream petrochemical industries and generating employment in western Rajasthan.

The visit also saw the inauguration of multiple railway and road infrastructure projects, including railway line doubling works in Churu district and the four-laning of the Karwar–Dangiyawas section of the Jodhpur Ring Road. Officials said these projects are aimed at improving freight and passenger movement while easing traffic pressure in and around key urban centres.
In the renewable energy sector, the Prime Minister dedicated major solar power projects, including the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project and the 300 MW Karnisar Solar Plant. He also inaugurated transmission projects worth ₹1,900 crore and laid the foundation for a 530-km transmission network designed to improve power evacuation and strengthen Rajasthan’s electricity infrastructure, particularly in support of expanding green energy capacity.
