Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday held a series of round-table and one-to-one meetings with more than 100 leaders from the semiconductor and technology sectors in the United States, presenting Gujarat as a long-term strategic partner for technology, innovation and supply-chain development. On the second day of his US visit, Patel and a state government delegation also engaged with representatives from artificial intelligence, EdTech, HealthTech, gaming and DeepTech sectors.
The discussions focused on opportunities for investment, research, skill development and business collaboration between American companies and Gujarat. Patel invited participating companies to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027, scheduled for January, and explore potential partnerships through business-to-business and business-to-government meetings. He also highlighted the possibility of combining Silicon Valley’s technology capabilities with Gujarat’s industrial base.
Patel said Gujarat was working towards creating a complete ecosystem for technology companies, covering research and development, innovation, manufacturing and global expansion. He emphasised the importance of infrastructure, electricity, connectivity, capital, skilled talent and policy stability in developing a next-generation technology hub. The chief minister said the state was prepared to provide these facilities and facilitate technology-led investments.

Semiconductor manufacturing and electronics remained a major focus of the meetings. Gujarat has been seeking to strengthen its position as a semiconductor and electronics manufacturing destination, with the state government highlighting infrastructure, policy stability and ease of doing business as key factors. Industry representatives participating in the discussions also pointed to the state’s infrastructure, faster permission processes and what they described as a proactive approach towards businesses.
At a separate round-table involving leaders from AI, HealthTech, EdTech and gaming, discussions covered generative AI, robotics, healthcare technology, education technology and gaming. Participants explored how emerging technologies, including large language models and generative AI, could be applied in areas such as advertising, content creation, video generation and education. Gaming opportunities in Gujarat were also discussed, including the potential for supportive policies and greater industry participation.
The discussions also examined opportunities associated with the Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in Gujarat and the possibility of strengthening the state’s gaming ecosystem. Patel’s US outreach is part of a broader international engagement ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027. During the first day of his visit, he met members of the Gujarati diaspora in San Francisco and sought stronger connections between global Gujarati talent and Gujarat’s expanding semiconductor, AI and technology ecosystem.
Chief Secretary M K Das and Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department Mamta Verma also addressed the meetings, outlining Gujarat’s development journey and preparations for the 2027 summit. The state’s US outreach reflects its effort to move beyond conventional manufacturing and attract technology-intensive investment across semiconductors, artificial intelligence and other emerging sectors while building stronger links between research, talent, manufacturing and global markets.
