Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during a fiery rally in Motihari, alleging the party exploited the poor by seizing their land before dangling job opportunities. With Bihar’s assembly elections on the horizon, Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of neglecting the state’s development and playing divisive politics with the poor and marginalized.
“They didn’t care about uplifting the poor; they only used their name for political games,” Modi charged, addressing a charged-up crowd. He introduced a new rallying cry, “Banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA sarkar” (We will build a new Bihar, once again an NDA government), sparking enthusiastic chants among supporters.
Highlighting his government’s achievements, Modi referenced the success of “Operation Sindoor,” a resolve he took from Bihar’s soil, now recognized globally. He promised transformative development, stating, “A developed Bihar is key to eastern India’s progress.” The PM announced a massive Rs 1 lakh crore investment to create jobs nationwide, with a focus on Bihar’s youth.

Modi also praised the state’s contribution to women’s empowerment, noting that 20 lakh of the country’s 1.5 crore ‘lakhpati didis’ (women earning significant incomes through self-help groups) hail from Bihar. In the past 45 days alone, Rs 1,000 crore has been disbursed to 24,000 self-help groups in the state, he added.
Drawing a historical parallel, Modi said, “Champaran inspired Mahatma Gandhi’s freedom movement. Now, we will elevate Motihari to the stature of Mumbai.” He contrasted the NDA’s vision for a “Viksit Bihar” with the RJD-Congress era, which he claimed left the state stagnant.
As the rally concluded, Modi’s promises of jobs, development, and a renewed Bihar energized the crowd, setting the stage for a heated electoral battle.
