Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Maharashtra Statehood Day with a detailed message to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, outlining an ambitious roadmap for “Viksit Maharashtra” aligned with the national vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” In his letter, the Prime Minister described Maharashtra as a “perennial source of inspiration” and a key driver of India’s economic and cultural progress. He also emphasized the state’s historical significance and its continuing leadership role in shaping modern India’s development trajectory.
PM Modi highlighted Maharashtra’s growing importance in India’s economic transformation, noting that the state continues to attract major infrastructure and industrial investments. He pointed to a record allocation of ₹24,000 crore for railway projects in 2025–26, describing it as evidence of strong central support for the state’s development. He also underlined Maharashtra’s position as a preferred destination for investors due to its robust industrial base, expanding urban infrastructure, and policy-driven growth initiatives.
A major focus of the Prime Minister’s message was on infrastructure projects that are expected to redefine Maharashtra’s economic landscape. These include the expansion of the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line, the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, and the development of the Vadhavan Port. He also highlighted the emergence of the Bidkin Industrial Area in Sambhajinagar as a futuristic manufacturing hub and the economic transformation underway in Gadchiroli following the decline of Left-Wing Extremism.
