Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged India’s youth to become the driving force behind the nation’s development, asserting that empowered young citizens were central to achieving the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.” Addressing a virtual Rozgar Mela event, Modi announced that the government had issued over 11 lakh appointment letters under the recruitment drive, describing them as “not just government jobs, but opportunities for nation-building.”
The Prime Minister also unveiled the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’, a new platform designed to connect UPSC candidates who reached the final stage but were not selected with employment opportunities in both public and private sectors. “The country cannot afford to let talent go to waste,” Modi said, emphasizing that the initiative would help skilled candidates contribute meaningfully to national development.
Congratulating the 51,000 newly appointed youth, Modi said their success during the festive season brought “double joy — the joy of celebration and the joy of employment.” Urging them to carry the ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’ spirit in their work, he called upon the new appointees to serve citizens with integrity, dedication, and accountability.

Modi highlighted that the government’s focus on employment extended beyond traditional government roles. Referring to the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, he said the initiative aimed to provide jobs to 3.5 crore youth, while programs like Skill India Mission and the National Career Service portal had already connected job seekers to more than 7 crore vacancies.
Speaking on India’s widening global opportunities, the Prime Minister said recent trade agreements and investment partnerships — including the India–UK Free Trade Agreement and collaborations with Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada — were opening new avenues in technology, clean energy, and startups. Emphasising that young “karmayogis” would lead India’s growth story, Modi concluded by saying, “When the youth succeed, the nation succeeds — this is the mantra of a developed India."
