The government slammed the opposition for allegedly betraying Parliament by dodging a scheduled Lok Sabha debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju revealed that moments before the discussion, the opposition demanded a guarantee for a debate on Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls post-Sindoor discussion.
Rijiju accused the opposition of backtracking on their initial agreement, claiming they are “running away” from discussing Operation Sindoor by imposing preconditions. He emphasized that Parliament operates by rules, not ultimatums, and accused the opposition of betraying public trust.
“The opposition is desperately avoiding the Operation Sindoor debate,” Rijiju told reporters, highlighting their alleged reluctance to engage on critical security issues.
