A state-of-the-art government school in Mathurapur, Greater Noida, built for Rs 1.30 crore under Uttar Pradesh’s ‘Operation Kayakalp,’ will be inaugurated on March 19, officials announced Monday. State Minister for Basic Education Sandeep Singh will unveil the facility, a flagship effort to modernize public education and rival private institutions, per a government spokesperson.
The school boasts smart classrooms with digital boards, advanced laboratories, and inclusive features like ramps and assistive devices for ‘Divyang’ (differently-abled) students, aligning with CM Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ vision. “This integrates divyang students into mainstream education with essential facilities,” Singh said. Currently enrolling 90 students, the target is to exceed 150 next session, offering RO-purified water, separate restrooms, and a Green School design emphasizing sustainability.
Equipped to prepare students for global competition, the school mirrors private-sector standards with hygiene and accessibility at its core, including specially trained staff for special-needs children. Officials hailed it as a “game-changer,” reflecting UP’s push since 2017 to revamp over 1.5 lakh schools under Operation Kayakalp, a Rs 2,000 crore-plus initiative blending CSR and state funds. The Mathurapur opening underscores this ambition, bridging educational equity gaps in the NCR’s industrial hub.
