Odisha is steadily positioning itself as a key hub for the FinTech and InsurTech sectors, in line with India’s broader push towards digital innovation and technology-driven growth, state IT Minister Mukesh Mahaling said on Thursday.
Speaking at an industry interaction, Mahaling highlighted that Odisha’s improving digital infrastructure, skilled talent pool, and investor-friendly policies are attracting companies operating in financial technology and insurance technology domains. He said the state government is actively working to create a robust ecosystem that supports startups, innovation, and advanced digital services.
The minister noted that initiatives such as IT parks, incubation centers, and policy incentives have helped Odisha gain recognition among emerging technology destinations in eastern India. He added that the government is encouraging collaboration between startups, established firms, and academic institutions to accelerate innovation.

Mahaling also said the growth of FinTech and InsurTech in Odisha aligns with national priorities such as digital payments, financial inclusion, and technology-led governance. According to him, the state aims to become a preferred destination for technology-driven enterprises over the next few years.
Industry stakeholders present at the event welcomed the government’s focus on ease of doing business and said Odisha has the potential to play a significant role in India’s evolving digital economy.
