North Western Railway (NWR) will begin the online application process for Apprentice Recruitment 2026 on October 7, inviting applications for 2,008 posts. Eligible candidates will be able to apply through the official NWR recruitment website, with the registration window scheduled to remain open until November 6, 2026. Candidates are required to meet the prescribed educational and age criteria before submitting their applications.
Applicants can register by visiting the official NWR website and accessing the Apprentice Recruitment 2026 link on the homepage. They will need to complete the registration process, fill in the application form, upload or provide the required details, and pay the applicable fee through the available online payment methods. After submitting the form, candidates should download the confirmation page and retain a printed copy for future reference.
The selection process will be based on a merit list prepared from the candidates' Class 10 and ITI marks. No separate written examination has been specified for the recruitment. The merit list will be calculated using the simple average of the percentage of marks obtained in Class 10 and the relevant ITI trade. Candidates will be arranged in descending order of merit based on the number of Apprentice slots available.

The final merit list will be prepared separately on a division-wise or unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise basis. Candidates will be shortlisted according to their position in the merit list and the number of vacancies available in the respective categories. Applicants should therefore ensure that the educational details and marks entered in their application forms are accurate before submitting the form.
For eligibility, candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination under the 10+2 system from a recognised board with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks. No rounding off of marks will be permitted. Applicants must also possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
Candidates must be at least 15 years old and not more than 24 years old as on November 6, 2026. Interested applicants should carefully read the official recruitment notification and verify their eligibility before applying. The application process will remain open from October 7 to November 6, 2026, and candidates are advised to rely on the official NWR website for the latest recruitment-related information and updates.
