Singer Nick Jonas, currently promoting his album Sunday Best, opened up about how Indian culture and Hindu philosophy have become central to his family life with wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas and their daughter, Malti Marie. Speaking on The Zach Sang Show, Nick explained that learning about Hinduism has profoundly shaped his spirituality and parenting approach.
“We are raising our daughter to have real Hindu values,” he said, highlighting lessons such as karma and treating others the way you want to be treated. He added, “Good things coming back to you is beautiful,” emphasising the moral framework they are instilling in Malti. Reflecting on his personal faith journey, Nick said, “My faith has evolved and changed, and it is very strong and an important part of who I am.”
Fatherhood has also reshaped his worldview. Nick shared how observing Malti’s first experiences—whether emotional or simple, everyday curiosities—has deepened his perspective on life. “The first time a little mind has experienced something, it is wild,” he said, noting how parenting has inspired his music. He now writes with Malti in mind, aiming to communicate lessons and empathy through his songs.

Nick also spoke about the impact of India and its traditions on his life since marrying Priyanka in 2018. “Some of my favourite traditions and holidays are now Indian traditions and holidays,” he said, adding that many cherished memories are either in India or “India adjacent.” Raised in a religious household—his father was an ordained minister—Nick’s spiritual path has been personal and evolving, blending his upbringing with his experiences in India and his journey as a father.
