The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on August 30, 2026. Candidates appearing for the postgraduate medical entrance examination should carefully review their admit card, exam-related documents and instructions issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) before reaching the examination centre.
According to the official schedule, the test city was communicated to candidates on August 11, while admit card-related activity was scheduled for August 24. Candidates should ensure that all details on their examination documents are correct and follow the instructions applicable to the exam. The NEET PG 2026 result is scheduled to be declared by September 30, while the internship completion cut-off is also September 30, 2026.
Candidates should also pay close attention to the photograph requirements associated with their application. The guidelines require applicants to upload two photographs, including a real-time photograph captured through a webcam or in-built camera and a recent photograph that is not more than three months old. The photograph should have a white background, with the candidate’s face, ears, neck and shoulders clearly visible.

The candidate should face the camera with eyes open and maintain a neutral expression. No other person or object should appear in the background, and body parts below the shoulders should not be visible. Candidates should avoid selfies for the recent photograph and should not wear spectacles, caps, goggles, makeup, ornaments or similar accessories while taking the photograph. Adequate lighting should be used, and candidates are advised to avoid flash.
NBEMS has also cautioned candidates about differences between the real-time photograph and the photograph uploaded with the application. A significant discrepancy between the two images may lead to rejection of the application. Candidates should therefore ensure that the submitted photograph accurately represents their current appearance and meets all prescribed specifications.
The key dates for NEET PG 2026 are the examination on August 30, 2026, result declaration by September 30, 2026, and the internship completion cut-off on September 30, 2026. Candidates should also note that the application portal advises applicants not to fill out the form using a mobile phone or other mobile device. Applicants are required to register first to receive their User ID and Password before logging in to complete the application process.
