A meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party was held at the Parliament House complex on Tuesday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior Union ministers in attendance. The gathering, titled "Mangal Milan", saw participation from lawmakers across NDA constituents and also marked the first appearance of recently joined Nationalist Congress Party of India (NCPI) MPs. The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament who had recently left the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and joined the NCPI.
Their participation highlighted the changing political alignments within the ruling alliance ahead of key parliamentary discussions and upcoming political developments. NCPI MP Sayoni Ghosh confirmed her participation in the NDA parliamentary meeting and described the session as informative and constructive. "I participated in the NDA meeting. It was an enriching and informative session in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Today, we discussed free trade agreements (FTAs). It was a positive discussion," she said.
The meeting focused on important policy issues, including India's ongoing negotiations and approach towards free trade agreements. Discussions on FTAs have gained importance as the government seeks to expand international trade partnerships, strengthen exports and attract investment through improved economic cooperation with other countries.
