Panic broke out inside a high-rise residential tower in Mumbai after a pet dog became aggressive inside an elevator and lunged at three young girls, creating a frightening situation in the confined space. The incident, which took place at Sheth Irene tower in the western suburb of Malad, was captured on CCTV footage and later circulated widely on social media. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident and no formal complaint has been filed so far.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on Thursday evening when a resident entered the building's lift with her pet dog while the three girls were already inside. The CCTV footage shows that shortly after the lift doors closed, the muzzled dog suddenly became agitated and moved aggressively toward the girls. The dog's owner was seen attempting to control the animal and prevent it from reaching them.
The footage shows the girls reacting in panic as the dog repeatedly tried to lunge forward. Two of the girls managed to exit the lift quickly, while one girl remained inside as the dog continued to behave aggressively. The owner continued struggling to restrain the pet until the lift reached the destination floor, allowing the girl to safely leave the elevator without suffering any injuries.

At the end of the video, the dog is seen attempting to pull its owner as she tries to maintain control over the animal. The incident has raised concerns among residents about safety measures while handling pets in shared residential spaces such as elevators. However, police said the resident had permission to bring the pet into the lift and confirmed that no violation had been reported.
Authorities said the viral video has drawn attention from residents, but no further legal action has been initiated due to the absence of injuries or a formal complaint. The incident has renewed discussions around responsible pet handling in crowded residential buildings, particularly in enclosed areas where sudden aggressive behaviour can create panic among residents.
