Lok Sabha proceedings in New Delhi were abruptly adjourned until 2 pm due to intense protests by Opposition members over various issues. As the session began, several Opposition MPs stormed the Well of the House, raising slogans to press their demands. Speaker Om Birla urged them to return to their seats and engage in constructive discussion, questioning, “You don’t want to discuss issues?” He criticized their sloganeering, stating it was inappropriate for the House, which is meant for debate.
Despite his appeals, the uproar persisted, leading to the adjournment within seven minutes. Amid the chaos, the House briefly acknowledged a scientific milestone, congratulating ISRO and NASA scientists for the successful GSLV rocket launch that deployed a joint earth observation satellite.
The disruption underscores ongoing tensions in Parliament, with the Opposition’s protests overshadowing legislative proceedings and delaying critical discussions.
