The government has agreed to a 16-hour Lok Sabha discussion on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack, scheduled likely for next week, despite opposition demands for an immediate debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response, sources revealed on Monday.
During the Business Advisory Committee meeting, government representatives cited PM Modi’s upcoming foreign visit this week as a reason for the delay, stating the debate would be feasible only when he is present in the House. Opposition members protested, noting the government’s weekly agenda omitted their call for urgent discussions on the issue.
They insisted that Home Minister and Defence Minister also participate in the debate. Additionally, some opposition MPs pushed for discussions on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and the ongoing situation in Manipur.
