RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav dropped a bombshell on Monday, alleging that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) is orchestrating a Rs 1,000 crore scam through the Rural Works Department (RWD) ahead of the state Assembly elections.
In a fiery post on X, the former deputy CM shared a news report claiming a heated clash between RWD Minister Ashok Choudhary and Deputy CM Vijay Sinha of the BJP during an NDA legislators’ meeting on the first day of the Monsoon session.
Yadav accused JD(U) of targeting Rs 1,000 crore by manipulating tender processes in the RWD, which the party controls. “The money is to be extracted from contractors through global tendering, with little focus on actual rural road construction,” he claimed, labeling it a “plundering game.” He further alleged that the CM’s flagship ‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal’ scheme involves an even larger scam, with “institutional loot” worth thousands of crores.
Slamming Nitish Kumar for remaining silent, Yadav suggested the CM is “not in his senses” while ministers, aware of the government’s impending exit, are in a “scramble for loot.” He also took a dig at Deputy CM Vijay Sinha, calling him “helpless” amid the alleged corruption. Neither Sinha nor Choudhary responded to requests for comment on Yadav’s allegations.
