Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will interact with members of Gen Z and Gen Alpha during a youth session at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai on August 6. The event will mark the beginning of the India International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) Annual Championship Conference and celebrate the organisation’s 15th anniversary.
The session will bring together more than 2,000 students from over 100 cities across India, with participants aged between 15 and 19 years representing schools and colleges. According to IIMUN, Bhagwat’s address will focus on engaging with young people and discussing the role of youth in shaping society. The inaugural ceremony will be held around the theme “The Role of Youth in Uniting the World, the Indian Way.”
IIMUN founder Rishabh Shah said the interaction reflects the importance of dialogue between leaders and younger generations. He stated that leadership involves not only guiding the next generation but also listening to their perspectives, particularly at a significant stage in India’s development. The conference will provide a platform for students to debate and deliberate on local, national and international issues.

Founded in 2011, IIMUN conducts youth-led conferences and civic engagement programmes across India and other countries. The organisation hosts 108 conferences annually and facilitates discussions and community initiatives involving young participants. Over the years, its programmes have expanded to 275 cities in India and 40 countries, reaching millions of young people through partnerships with educational institutions.
The Annual Championship Conference is designed to encourage students to develop leadership skills, understand global issues and participate in public discussions. IIMUN stated that many participants and organisers who have been part of its programmes have gone on to pursue careers in public service, law, business, arts and other fields.
The organisation’s advisory board includes prominent figures from different sectors, including business leaders, politicians, legal professionals, entertainment personalities and former armed forces officials. The upcoming Mumbai event is expected to serve as a platform for discussions on youth participation, leadership and India’s role in global engagement.
