The murder case involving Chandigarh-based social media influencer Manjeet Kaur has taken a new turn after a video reportedly recorded during her hospital treatment surfaced online. In the footage, Manjeet is seen describing the alleged attack and claiming that several people set her on fire. The video has drawn renewed attention to the circumstances surrounding her death and the allegations made before she succumbed to her injuries.
In the video, Manjeet names Surjit, Shubhi and Neha, along with two men who were allegedly accompanying Shubhi, and accuses them of setting her on fire. She appeals to the administration to ensure that those responsible are punished at the earliest. Her statement, however, represents an allegation made during her treatment, and the claims will need to be examined and established through the ongoing investigation and legal process.
Manjeet was initially admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after suffering severe burn injuries. Given the seriousness of her condition, she was later referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh for specialised treatment. The video is reportedly believed to have been recorded while she was receiving medical care.

The influencer reportedly battled for her life for nearly three months following the incident. Despite treatment, she died during the last week of August from injuries sustained in the alleged attack. Her death subsequently intensified demands for a detailed investigation into the incident and accountability for those accused of involvement.
The emergence of the video has now added a significant piece of material to the case, as it contains Manjeet’s own account of what she claimed happened to her. Investigators are expected to examine the recording alongside medical records, witness statements and other available evidence to determine the sequence of events and establish the responsibility of the accused.
The case has sparked concern over the alleged targeting of a social media influencer and the severity of the injuries she suffered. Authorities will have to establish the facts surrounding the incident, verify the allegations made in the video and determine the appropriate legal action against those found responsible.
