Delhi Police have detained four individuals, including Zikra, a woman known locally as ‘Lady Don,’ and three of her cousins, in connection with the brutal stabbing of 17-year-old Kunal Singh in Seelampur, northeast Delhi, on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
The murder, which occurred around 7:30 p.m. in J-Block, New Seelampur, just meters from Kunal’s home, has sparked protests and heightened communal tensions, with locals and Hindu outfits demanding justice.
Kunal, who stepped out to buy milk for his ailing father, was stabbed multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at JPC Hospital. Police sources indicate the attack, opposite a Shiv-Parvati temple, may have been a revenge killing linked to an earlier assault on Zikra’s cousin, Sahil Khan, by members of Kunal’s community, which led to an attempt-to-murder case. Zikra, previously arrested under the Arms Act for brandishing a pistol on social media, was out on bail and living near Kunal’s residence.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range) Pushpendra Kumar confirmed that 10 teams are investigating, with Sahil Khan and Rehan Mirza among the detained, though the fourth detainee’s identity remains undisclosed. “The accused have been identified and will be nabbed soon,” Kumar told PTI. Zikra, who worked as a bouncer for jailed gangster Hashim Baba’s wife, Zoya, before her arrest in a drug case, reportedly aimed to form her own gang.
Her social media, boasting over 15,000 followers, features videos of her wielding firearms, and she allegedly led a group of 10–12 youths, some now linked to the murder.
Kunal’s father, Rajdeep Singh, recovering from recent surgery, expressed anguish: “I asked my son to buy milk, but criminals killed him on the street. I want justice.” His mother, Parveen, alleged Zikra’s involvement, claiming, “She roamed with a pistol. They stabbed him multiple times despite his innocence in Sahil’s case.”
Protests erupted, with posters reading “Hindus are migrating” and appeals to PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, later removed by police. Security has been bolstered with Rapid Action Force deployment.
The case has fueled a political slugfest, with AAP’s Atishi blaming the BJP-led Centre and Delhi Police for failing to ensure safety, while BJP’s Manoj Tiwari assured swift action. The day witnessed public outrage, with some demanding stricter measures against Zikra, known for her criminal history and ties to Hashim Baba.
