Konda Surekha, who was removed from the Telangana Cabinet over alleged indiscipline, has denied any association with social media posts being circulated in her name. In a post on X on Friday, the former minister clarified that neither she nor her family had any connection with the news items or social media content attributed to them.

Surekha also shared details of her official social media accounts and urged the media and the public to rely only on information published through those verified channels. The clarification came after posts carrying messages such as “big update soon” and “the wait is almost over” began circulating on social media, a day after her removal from the state Cabinet.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday and formally recommended Surekha's removal from the Council of Ministers. The Governor subsequently issued a notification declaring that Surekha ceased to be a minister with immediate effect. The move followed approval from the Congress high command after consultations involving senior state leaders, including Revanth Reddy and Telangana Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud.

The action followed a report by the Telangana Congress Disciplinary Committee, which recommended strong action against Surekha and G. Chinna Reddy, who was also removed as Vice Chairman of the Telangana Planning Board. The party leadership had taken note of Surekha's response to a show-cause notice issued after remarks made by her daughter, Sushmitha, against the Chief Minister. Surekha had argued that she could not be held responsible for statements made independently by her adult daughter.

Sushmitha had criticised Revanth Reddy at a public event in Warangal district last month and levelled corruption allegations against members of his family. Her remarks followed the Chief Minister's appeal at a public meeting in Parkal for voters to support sitting MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy in the next election. Sushmitha, who had been seeking a Congress ticket from Parkal, indicated that she would contest from the constituency even if Prakash Reddy was nominated by the party.

After her removal, Surekha accused Revanth Reddy of pressuring the Congress high command to remove her and alleged that his brothers, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and MP Vem Narender Reddy, were part of a conspiracy against her. She also held meetings with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. Despite the action, Surekha and her husband Konda Murali have maintained that they will remain with the Congress, with the former minister rejecting speculation about joining the BJP or forming a new political party.
