Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday urged the region’s youth to lead India’s development journey, emphasizing their role in fostering long-lasting peace and prosperity. Speaking at the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Awantipora, Pulwama, Sinha described the youth as the Union Territory’s “most valuable asset” capable of driving a socio-economic revolution.
The Yuva Connect initiative, launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, aims to bridge the gap between young citizens and policymakers, empowering youth to contribute to India’s Viksit Bharat vision. “This platform enables youth to share ideas, engage in policy dialogues, and actively shape the nation’s future,” Sinha said. He encouraged J&K’s youth to provide innovative solutions to national challenges, highlighting the region’s “infinite possibilities” and abundant resources for aspiring young people.
Sinha called on the youth to adopt a “nation-first” resolve and embrace Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Panch Pran’ principles, emphasizing initiative, leadership, self-confidence, and learning from failure. “You will create a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring peace and prosperity,” he said, administering the ‘Viksit Bharat Shapath’ pledge to affirm commitment to national progress.
