Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato held a crucial meeting with senior officials on July 30, 2025, to ensure seamless proceedings for the upcoming monsoon session, scheduled from August 1 to August 7, with five working days. The discussions, covering 29 key points, aimed to address past disruptions and streamline operations, as confirmed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radha Krishna Kishore.
Mahato directed department officials to station senior staff in the officials' gallery during Question Hour, Call Attention Motion, and other proceedings to provide timely responses. Emphasizing efficiency, he stressed that members must receive prompt replies to their questions, enabling them to prepare supplementary queries. Recalling a power outage that halted the last session, the Speaker ordered the Electricity Department to guarantee uninterrupted power supply.
Security and parking arrangements were also finalized to manage the expected influx of attendees. Kishore urged officials to prepare detailed notes on pressing state issues, anticipating Opposition challenges during debates. He raised concerns about the assembly secretariat’s backlog, noting that only 31 of 391 questions from the budget session’s Zero Hour have received replies, calling it a “worrying” lapse.
