A fierce exchange of gunfire broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Khankoo forest, located between Dachhan and Nagseni in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, on Sunday, according to officials. The clash occurred during a cordon and search operation launched by the police and Indian Army, following intelligence about suspicious terrorist movements in the area.
The terrorists, hiding in the dense forest, opened fire on the approaching search teams, prompting immediate retaliation. The brief but intense gunfight resulted in no reported casualties so far, officials confirmed. Reinforcements have been deployed to the region, and an extensive search operation is underway to locate and neutralize the terrorists.
