A gunman accused of carrying out a deadly shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said on Sunday. Authorities confirmed that the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, acted alone during the attack, which left four people dead, including the shooter, and injured seven others at the recently opened fast-food outlet. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators believe Williams was solely responsible for the shooting that took place on Saturday at the restaurant in the southern Idaho city.

Speaking at a news conference, Hicks said an off-duty state trooper and an armed civilian played a key role in preventing further casualties by returning fire and diverting the gunman’s attention away from the restaurant. According to police, the suspect ultimately died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting or the motive behind the attack. Investigators are continuing to examine evidence collected from the scene as they work to establish a complete timeline of events.

The shooting resulted in the deaths of four people, including Williams. Seven others were injured during the incident, with authorities providing an update on their conditions. Police said two injured individuals were treated at a hospital and later released, while three others remained in stable condition. Two victims were reported to be in critical condition as of Sunday.
