A wedding ceremony in Indore turned into an unusual monsoon celebration after heavy rain flooded the venue, forcing the groom to carry his bride through knee-deep water. Instead of cancelling or postponing the ceremony, the couple decided to continue with their plans and completed the wedding rituals despite persistent rain and widespread waterlogging.
The wedding took place at a garden on CAT Road, where the bride and groom had travelled from Delhi for the ceremony. Hours of heavy rainfall left large parts of the venue submerged before the festivities could properly begin. Water levels reportedly reached between 1.5 and two feet in some areas around the ceremonial platform, making normal movement through the venue difficult.
Videos from the wedding quickly went viral on social media, showing the groom lifting the bride in his arms and carrying her through the flooded pathway towards the ceremonial platform. In another moment, he was seen carrying her towards the dining area. The scenes attracted widespread attention online, with several users comparing the unusual wedding visuals to moments from a film.

Despite the challenging conditions, the couple continued with the ceremony and completed all seven traditional wedding rounds while standing in ankle-deep water. Rain continued to fall during the rituals, but the celebrations went ahead as planned. The flooded surroundings created an unusual backdrop for the ceremony as the couple and their families adapted to the weather.
Guests also made their way carefully through the waterlogged venue to witness the wedding. Videos showed people navigating the flooded garden while footwear could be seen floating near the ceremonial area, highlighting the extent of the water accumulation. The wedding party continued with the celebrations despite the disruption caused by the heavy rainfall.
The unusual ceremony came as Indore experienced continuous rain over several days, causing waterlogging across parts of the city. Reports indicated that the city had received more than half of its average July rainfall within the first week of the month. The viral wedding videos have since drawn attention to how the couple and their guests adapted to the severe weather rather than allowing it to halt the celebrations.
