Nand Kishore Yadav, the newly appointed Governor of Nagaland, on Friday highlighted the Northeastern region’s growing focus on connectivity, infrastructure, and economic development since assuming office as the 23rd Governor. Addressing the people of the state, he emphasized that government initiatives are expanding opportunities while integrating Nagaland into the national growth story without compromising its unique identity and traditions.
Governor Yadav noted that Nagaland has seen steady progress across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, tourism, digital connectivity, and entrepreneurship. “These developments are creating new possibilities for economic growth and improving the quality of life for the people,” he said, underscoring the importance of comprehensive regional development.
The Governor praised the youth of Nagaland for their achievements in education, sports, arts, entrepreneurship, and public service. He highlighted their energy, talent, and determination, noting that fostering meaningful opportunities for educated youth remains a key priority. Yadav encouraged young people to explore avenues in entrepreneurship, agriculture-based enterprises, tourism, and the digital economy, stressing that innovation and institutional support can generate employment and promote self-reliance.

Highlighting the importance of peace and stability, Yadav said that these values provide the foundation for sustainable progress in Nagaland. “With collective effort and mutual understanding, Nagaland will continue to move forward on the path of prosperity,” he remarked, emphasizing that lasting peace and harmony are essential for the aspirations of the people.
The Governor also referenced India’s national progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting achievements in economic growth, infrastructure, science and technology, social empowerment, and sports. “These accomplishments have strengthened India’s standing on the global stage and reinforced its emergence as a rising global power,” he said, committing to work closely with the people of Nagaland to promote development while preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage.
Earlier in the day, Yadav took oath as Governor in a ceremony at Lok Bhavan in Kohima, administered by Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T.R. Zeliang, members of the state Cabinet, and top civil, security, and military officials attended the event, which was conducted under the supervision of Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.
