Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan highlighted the uniqueness of Indian culture in its practice of "unity in diversity," stating that it is guided by the soul and promotes respect for all individuality, unlike other cultures historically driven by assertions of superiority.
Speaking on the concluding day of the "Bhojpuria Kala Haat" event on December 14, 2025, Khan delivered a keynote address on "Bharat Ka Swatva" (India’s Identity), organized under the aegis of Sanskar Bharati, an organization dedicated to promoting Indian art and culture. He emphasized that Indian culture has thrived for ages due to its open and assimilative nature, respecting both living and non-living entities.
Khan contrasted Indian culture with others that have sought dominance based on race, language, or skin color under the pretext of refinement. "The Indian culture is straightaway guided by soul, which respects the individuality of living and non-living things alike," he said, underscoring its inclusive ethos that has enabled unity amid vast diversity.

The governor stressed the importance of enlightenment for human development, noting that true enlightenment leads individuals to view others as extensions of themselves and devote their lives to service. "It is the ones who serve others who are remembered for long," he added, encouraging a shift toward selfless contribution.
Khan spent approximately one and a half hours at the exhibition, interacting with artisans and visitors showcasing local arts such as Tharu art, Sikki craft, and Madhubani paintings. The event celebrated regional cultural heritage while aligning with broader themes of India's enduring identity. His remarks resonate with ongoing national discussions on cultural preservation, highlighting how India's spiritual foundation fosters harmony and distinguishes it on the global stage.
