A fire erupted at a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar’s Jagamara area during a training session, trapping dozens. Fire services swiftly evacuated 65 people, including students, from the multi-storey building.
"We rescued around 60 people and sent them to a hospital," said senior fire officer Ramesh Chandra Majhi. The fire, originating in the second-floor auditorium, was controlled, with 10 ambulances transporting those with minor injuries.
The cause is under investigation. The Fire and Emergency Services department’s quick action saved 65 students from the third floor, per their X post.
