Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has publicly declared that the nation's armed forces benefited from explicit divine intervention throughout the intense four-day military confrontation with India in May 2025, which erupted after India's precision strikes under Operation Sindoor targeted terrorist facilities in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and mainland Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack.
Addressing the National Ulema Conference in Islamabad on December 10, Munir reflected on the conflict's dynamics, asserting that Pakistani personnel on the ground and in command distinctly perceived this supernatural assistance, framing the experience as a tangible spiritual reinforcement amid overwhelming Indian aerial and missile superiority.
In his speech, interspersed with recitations from the Quran, Munir elevated Pakistan's geopolitical status by analogizing it to the original Islamic state established by the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago, highlighting its distinguished position among 57 Islamic nations as the divinely appointed guardian of the sacred sites of Makkah and Madina, known as Haramain Sharifain.

Shifting focus to cross-border terrorism threats, Munir delivered a pointed ultimatum to the Taliban administration in Afghanistan, compelling them to decisively align with Pakistan or continue harboring the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, underscoring the urgency of this choice in light of persistent militant incursions.
Munir cited intelligence indicating that roughly 70 percent of militants operating within TTP units crossing into Pakistan are Afghan nationals, rhetorically questioning whether such actions constitute the deliberate shedding of innocent Pakistani blood, while reiterating the Islamic principle that only a legitimate state authority possesses the right to declare or authorize jihad.
