As the city gears up for the Beating Retreat Ceremony 2026, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that specific exit gates at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat metro stations facing Rafi Marg will remain closed from 2 pm to 6 pm on January 28 and 29. The temporary closures are part of enhanced security arrangements for the prestigious event.
The DMRC advised commuters to plan their travel in advance, follow station announcements, and allow additional time to reach their destinations. Enhanced security checks will be in place across all metro stations in central Delhi until January 29 to ensure smooth and safe commuting.
In addition to metro restrictions, the Delhi Traffic Police has imposed traffic curbs in key areas around Vijay Chowk. These restrictions, enforced from 4 pm to 6 pm on January 28, aim to facilitate secure movement for rehearsal personnel and prevent congestion in the high-security zone.
