A 36-year-old man, Karan Dev, was found dead from electrocution in Delhi’s Dwarka on July 13, with police now suspecting his wife and her lover, his cousin, of orchestrating the murder. The chilling case unraveled after incriminating evidence surfaced, pointing to a premeditated plot.
Police received a PCR call from Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital in Uttam Nagar, where Dev was pronounced dead, with electrocution listed as the cause. Authorities say Dev’s wife and her partner, the son of Dev’s uncle, allegedly drugged him with sleeping pills before electrocuting him. After the act, the wife informed her in-laws, who rushed Dev to the hospital, where he was unresponsive.
Initially, Dev’s family did not suspect foul play and even considered skipping the post-mortem. However, due to his young age, an autopsy was conducted at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. On July 16, Dev’s brother, Kunal Dev, approached police with suspicions, presenting phone chats between the wife and her lover that revealed plans to kill Karan.
