Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a “Jan Kalyan Shivir” (Public Welfare Camp) at the MCD Community Hall in Sandesh Vihar, Shalimar Bagh, marking the launch of a citywide outreach programme aimed at delivering government services directly to citizens. The initiative is being organised across multiple constituencies in the national capital. Officials said the camp was held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and was inaugurated amid a focus on public welfare and administrative accessibility.
The Delhi government has announced that a total of 42 such camps will be conducted across the city until June 20. These camps are intended to bring together various departments under one roof to simplify access to welfare schemes. Chief Minister Gupta said the objective is to ensure citizens can access both Central and Delhi government services at a single location without having to visit multiple offices.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that the initiative reflects a broader effort to improve governance efficiency and citizen convenience. She noted that earlier, residents often faced difficulties in accessing schemes due to fragmented service delivery. The government, she said, is now working to ensure services reach people at their doorstep under a coordinated administrative approach.

The camps are designed to offer assistance and registration for several welfare schemes, including ration cards, Aadhaar services, Jan Dhan accounts, e-Shram cards, and housing-related programmes such as PM-UDAY. Additional services include support for the PM SVANidhi scheme, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, MSME loan facilitation, and pension-related assistance. Departments like the Delhi Jal Board and House Tax division are also setting up dedicated counters.
The initiative also includes awareness and support services for schemes such as Lakhpati Didi Yojana, Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana, scholarships, and caste certificate issuance for eligible beneficiaries. Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, saplings are being distributed to promote environmental awareness alongside welfare outreach. Officials said the camps aim to ensure that eligible citizens are not left out of government benefits.
Chief Minister Gupta urged residents to visit their nearest Jan Kalyan Shivir and take advantage of the services being provided. She said the programme aligns with the vision of a “Viksit Delhi” as part of the broader national goal of a developed India, emphasizing that governance should be accessible, efficient, and inclusive for all sections of society.
