In a major push to revamp the capital’s healthcare system, the Delhi government appointed over 1,300 nursing officers and launched Ayushman Bharat registration vans on Sunday, aiming to enhance medical services across the city.

The initiative was unveiled at a ceremony attended by BJP president J P Nadda, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Health Minister Pankaj Singh, and other senior officials. The newly appointed nurses will strengthen staffing in government hospitals, while the Ayushman vans will streamline registrations for the national health scheme, ensuring wider access to healthcare.

Chief Minister Gupta, addressing the event, took a swipe at the previous administration, accusing it of neglecting Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure. “The decay in our health system was overlooked for too long. Today’s steps mark a new era of robust healthcare for every Delhiite,” she said.

The move is expected to address critical gaps in hospital staffing and improve healthcare accessibility, aligning with the government’s vision for a healthier capital.
