The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to unveil its revised curriculum for Classes 9 to 12 for the 2026–27 academic session, marking a significant step in aligning school education with evolving national standards. The updated curriculum is based on recommendations from the National Curriculum Framework for School Education, with implementation scheduled to begin at the Class 9 level from the upcoming academic year.
To provide clarity on the changes, CBSE will host a webinar at 3 pm, aimed at explaining the updated scheme of studies and key revisions included in the Secondary Curriculum (Part I) 2026–27. The session will be accessible to students, teachers, and other stakeholders via an official online platform, enabling wider participation and understanding of the reforms being introduced.
Following the official release, CBSE will publish the complete curriculum documents on its academic portal, making them available for schools to access and review. Institutions have been instructed to download the updated materials, including introductory guidelines, and circulate them among teachers and students to ensure familiarity with the new structure and expectations.

The board has also directed schools to take immediate steps to implement the revised curriculum in accordance with prescribed guidelines. Emphasis has been placed on strict adherence to both general instructions and subject-specific frameworks, ensuring consistency in delivery and assessment across affiliated institutions nationwide.
According to CBSE, the revised curriculum focuses on competency-based education, experiential learning, and greater flexibility in subject choices. The framework aims to promote holistic development among students by encouraging critical thinking, application-based learning, and skill development, in line with the broader vision outlined in the NCF-2023.
School heads have been advised to actively engage teachers and parents during the transition phase by organising orientation sessions and Parent-Teacher Meetings. These initiatives are expected to help stakeholders understand the changes and facilitate a smoother rollout of the updated curriculum from the beginning of the 2026–27 academic session.
